Hierdie proses het drie stappe:
- Die ouers maak beloftes van ouerskap aan die kind in die teenwoordigheid van ander mense en God
- Die seen van God en die beskerming van die here word op die kind afgebid
- Die kind se naam word bevestig
Voorbeeld:
Ek (ouer) erken hiermee dat jy (baba) ‘n geskenk is wat aan my gegee is. Ek dank God vir die voorreg om jou pa/ma te wees en beloof vandag dat ek alles in my vermoeë sal doen om ‘n volwaardige vader/moeder vir jou te wees.
Ek vra God om my te help om vir jou ‘n voorbeeld te wees, wat jy kan navolg. Ek onderneem om jou altyd te beskerm waar dit in my vermoeë is. Ek sal jou fisies, emosioneel en geestelik versorg.
Ek beloof om jou emosionele veiligheid te gee om ‘n oor te wees wanneer jy wil praat, om ‘n skouer te wees is as jy wil huil.
Ek sal jou lei en begelei om jou eie lewensdoel te ontdek en te vervul. Ek aanvaar jou soos jy is, wie jy is en wie jy sal word.

Baby Dedications
This process has three steps:
- The parent makes a vow towards the child in the presence of others
- The baby gets blessed by the Pastor and the protection and blessings of God is asked upon the child
- The name of the child is confirmed.
Example:
I (parents name) acknowledge herewith that you (baby’s name) are a gift that has been entrusted to me. I thank God for the privilege of being your Dad/Mom. I promise today that I will do all in my power to be a proper parent to you.
I promise to give you emotional safety and to be a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen when you want to speak.
I ask God to help me, to set an example for you that you can follow. I undertake to always protect you where it is in my power. I promise to take care of you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I promise to lead you and to guide you to find and fulfill your life purpose. I accept you as you are and for who you are and for who you will become.
